Hello, Everyone:
I hope you all had a magnificent 4th of July weekend and celebrated America’s 250th birthday in a fun, safe, and relaxing way. After a steamy week, it seems things this week are a bit cooler with normal summer temperatures, so I’m grateful for that.
This weekend, in addition to some key World Cup games, the Tour de France started in an explosive fashion with Jonas Vingegaard winning the team time trial. Stage 2 and Stage 3 saw Team Emirates XRG dominate both. Issac del Torro was gifted the stage 2 win by teammate Tadej Pogacar, but Stage 3 saw him storm to the line for a stage victory of his own. Visma Lease a Bike has been shut out of the last two stages, but I hope that changes.
Supposedly, the tour organizers were keeping fans away today due to wildfires as the peloton was subjected to temperatures in the 90s. With the end of Stage 3, the peloton waves goodbye to Spain with Stage 4 to be the first full stage that will take place in France.
Have a great week. Enjoy the milder summer temps, which will be better for those afternoon rides, and keep watching the Tour de France in whatever way you do it. It looks like it’s going to be an intense three weeks of racing.
