Monday Update: Enric Mas Wins the Vuelta a España; Issac Del Toro, Paul Seixas, Remco Evenepoel Top Riders at Grand Prix Cycliste de Montréal; And Do You Want to Ride in Denmark?

Hello, Everyone:

Welcome to the second Monday in September.

This past weekend saw a lot of pro cycling activity. First of all, there was the conclusion of the Vuelta a España after three weeks of racing. It seems that after Pogacar crashed out of the race, the media coverage lessened considerably. That’s unfortunate because the man who won, Enric Mas from Movistar, who is also Spanish, won his first Grand Tour after getting the Maillot Rojo by default. He kept his lead over the peloton for the remaining 2 1/2 weeks, only losing 30 seconds in the time trial.

In another race, a pre-race of sorts for the World Championships in two weeks, Issac Del Toro, Paul Seixas, Remco Evenepoel, and Tom Pidcock all put in stellar performances at the Grand Prix Cycliste de Montréal. Del Toro was first and Seixas was second, so a nice illustration that the young riders coming into the sport are strong as ever.
