Hello, Everyone:
And boom!! It’s now July and we are now totally immersed in the summer season. It’s hot, the days are long, and the nights are mostly pleasant. This is my favorite time of year, if you haven’t guessed.
Summer to me means various things: travel, concerts, long bike rides, sitting on the patio with a beer in hand and looking at the stars. But for us cyclists with an interest in pro cycling, the biggest event on the planet starts Saturday: Le Tour de France. The race starts with a team time trial, then for the next two days (stages), the peloton takes to the road before the race transfers to France.
I do love and admire Pogačar, but I find it boring when one team or one rider dominates the Tour. He is going for his fifth Tour victory, so good luck to him, but I do hope Vingegaard, Paul Seixas, or Issac Del Torro challenge Pogačar. Either way, Le Tour is always exciting to watch, and it always blows my mind that these guys ride almost 3,000 miles over three weeks. No sport is as brutal or can compare to that, not even the World Cup.
Have a good rest of your week and enjoy the start of Le Tour de France this weekend!
