Hello, Everyone:
Welcome to the last Monday in June. The much talked about and reported on heat wave that has been plaguing Europe for the last couple of weeks has arrived here in the United States. Temperatures will be hovering in the high 90s, then much the same for next week. If you have air conditioning, it’s a good time to take advantage of it and, perhaps, delve into your summer reading list.
Since it is soon to be July, the biggest event of the summer and in pro cycling begins Sunday, Le Tour de France. The opening stage will take place in Barcelona, Spain. Pogačar, of course, is highly favoured to take his fifth tour victory, but I think Jonas Vingegaard will give him a challenge, as well as the French youngster and phenom Paul Seixas, who was just offered the richest contract for a pro cyclist at 13 million euros and who will also be making his first TDF appearance.
Enjoy your week and have a lovely 4th of July weekend.
