As bicycles get more and more expensive, the desire to keep them looking good and running well for as long as possible has become a niche area in the cycling industry. Many companies, as a result, have arisen that focus on cleaning, polishing, and keeping your drive train running smoothly.
These products go beyond using dish detergent to wash your bike or WD40 (just joking, I hope you don’t use this) to lubricate your chain. However, the biggest shift in bike cleaning products has been the focus on chain waxing. Companies like Muc-Off, Silca, and now Dynamic offer these types of products. But it’s Dynamic’s close and long association with the cycling industry that makes it stand out amongst the competition.
Who is Dynamic? What Makes Them Unique?

Based in the Netherlands, the company states it has been around since 2020, so that would make it a fairly new entry into the world of bicycle care. The truth is the company has a long history with the cycling industry.
Dynamic started as part of a German distribution company that was eventually acquired by Tacx and then Garmin. After 30 years, it finally launched as an independent company. What makes them unique is that bicycle (and some for the cyclists as well) care is their specialty.
Why Is The Cycling World So Crazy for Chain Waxing?

Chain waxing in cycling has existed since the 1980s with cyclists using paraffin on their chains. But it’s in the last ten years or so that chain waxing has really caught fire. Today, it is rapidly becoming accepted as a cleaner alternative to oils and lubes. Why is that?
As already mentioned, bikes and bike parts have become very expensive. Since the chain is the central piece in a drive train, the hope is that the parts it passes through, such as the cranks, chainrings, front derailleur, and rear derailleur will last a long time. But dirt, debris, and just normal wear and tear can wear these parts down in a quick fashion.
Wax is also said to keep a bicycle’s drivetrain cleaner and doesn’t attract debris and dirt. Wax lasts longer and doesn’t need to be reapplied as often as lube. That means less wear occurs on key components. Additionally, while some would consider this a marginal gain, chain waxing may improve speed, shifting, and overall ride efficiency, but that hasn’t been overly proven and, at best, would vary from one rider to another.
Dynamic’s Line of Bike Care (and Cyclist) Care Products

While Muc-Off has bicycle care products, they also carry motorcycle care products, including power washers. That’s something you see pro mechanics use to wash bikes, but I wouldn’t suggest it for everyone.
Silca, on the other hand, offers pretty specific bicycle maintenance and care products but also has saddle bags, socks, 3D printed derailleur hangers, cleats, and computer mounts.
Dynamic exclusively focuses on care products to clean and maintain your bicycle, although it does sell sunscreen, a recovery cream for your tired legs, a lens cleaner for cycling eyewear, and a tubeless valve kit. But primarily they offer various kinds of chain wax, bike wash, drivetrain cleaners, brushes, and microfiber cloths. In other words, if bike maintenance is your main goal, if you choose them to work with, they’ve got about every area of bike maintenance covered.
Last Thoughts

It goes without saying that bicycles are tough but also delicate machines. Keeping them clean and their parts lubricated correctly so they last is an important part of being a cyclist. A well-cared-for bike will see you through your ride and perform at a high level.
So, is that to say if you don’t use these products, your bike will be more prone to future complications? Maybe or maybe not. The point is to look after your bike in the best way you can and in the most affordable way you can. If you do that part, you will have years of enjoyment from your very special and specialized machine.
